For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) is an enzyme involved in the synthesis of catecholamine neurotransmitters—dopamine, epinephrine, and norepinephrine.
Catecholamine synthesis is regulated by TH's interaction with tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4), which binds to the catalytic domain to activate the enzyme.
Human TH has four mRNA splice variants (hTH1–hTH4), differing in their N-terminal regulatory domains but identical in catalytic regions.
TH catalyzes the conversion of L-tyrosine to L-dopa and plays a key role in adrenergic neuron physiology.
Abnormal TH activity is associated with neuropathogenic diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, schizophrenia, Segawa syndrome, dystonia, and cardiovascular disorders.
