Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, and ensuring batch-to-batch consistency only achievable with recombinant technology.
Functionally similar to polyclonal antibodies—recognizing multiple epitopes and providing enhanced detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets—these antibodies have a defined mixture of light and heavy chains that can be reproduced identically in each lot, eliminating biological variability.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, this product is now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody”. The physical product and performance remain unchanged.
Target Information
Histones are basic nuclear proteins forming the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fibers in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each core histone (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped, forming nucleosomes.
The linker histone H1 interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and contributes to chromatin compaction.
The H4 gene is intronless, encodes a member of the histone H4 family, and is located in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6. Transcripts lack polyA tails and contain a palindromic termination element.
