Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies.
These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes on the target, providing high detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets.
Each lot is produced with a defined population of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability typical of polyclonal antibody production.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody”. Performance remains unchanged.
Target Information
Histones are basic nuclear proteins responsible for the nucleosome structure of chromosomal fibers in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each core histone (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer around which ~146 bp of DNA is wrapped to form nucleosomes.
The linker histone H1 interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and contributes to chromatin compaction.
The H4 gene is intronless, lacks a polyA tail, and contains a palindromic termination element. It resides in the large histone gene cluster on chromosome 6.
