MA3-079 detects TATA-Binding Protein (TBP) Associated Factor 7 from human, canine, and non-human primate samples.
It has been successfully used in Western blot, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry applications.
The immunogen used is recombinant human TAF7 protein.
Target Information
The intronless gene for this transcription coactivator is located between the protocadherin beta and gamma gene clusters on chromosome 5.
The encoded protein is a component of the TFIID complex, which binds to the TATA box in class II promoters and recruits RNA polymerase II and other transcription factors.
This subunit interacts with the largest TFIID subunit and multiple transcription activators, being essential for transcription by RNA polymerase II.
TFIID consists of the TATA-binding protein (TBP) and associated factors (TAFs) that participate in assembly of the transcription preinitiation complex.
