Target Information
DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD), are putative RNA helicases. They are involved in various cellular processes requiring RNA secondary structure modification, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Some members of this protein family are associated with embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division. The DHX32 gene encodes one such member, though its specific function remains undetermined. Alternative splicing generates two transcript variants, with one variant’s full-length nature yet to be defined.
