Target Information
Nop56p is a yeast nucleolar protein that forms a complex with the nucleolar proteins Nop58p and fibrillarin. It is essential for the assembly of the 60S ribosomal subunit and is involved in pre-rRNA processing.
NOL5A, similar in sequence to Nop56p, is also localized in the nucleolus. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, although the full-length nature of most remains undetermined.
