Product Specific Information

The eBio124-1D1 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD7 (gp40, Leu9), a 40 kDa receptor belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily.

  • Expression: Found on immature and mature T lymphocytes, T cell leukemias, NK cells, a subset of normal and malignant B cells.
  • Function: Cross-linking CD7 modulates T and NK cell activity, affecting calcium flux, adhesion molecule expression, cytokine secretion, and proliferation.
  • Signaling: CD7 associates with phosphoinositol 3′-kinase; ligation induces D-3 phosphoinositide production and tyrosine phosphorylation.
  • Stem Cell Relevance: CD7 expression identifies primitive lymphoid progenitors capable of generating B, NK, and dendritic cells but not myeloid or erythroid lineages.
  • Treg Function: CD7 may cooperate with CD28; deficiency in both reduces Treg numbers and suppressive function.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted; use 5 µL (1.0 µg) per 100 µL cell sample (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

CD7 (gp40, Leu9) is a 40 kDa immunoglobulin superfamily member.

  • Structure: N-terminal (aa 1–107) homologous to Ig kappa light chain; C-terminal proline-rich region forms a stalk for the Ig domain.
  • Expression: Found on immature/mature T cells, T cell leukemia, NK cells, and subsets of B cells.
  • Function: Cross-linking modulates T and NK cell activation via PI3K signaling.
  • Clinical Relevance: CD7 expression serves as a diagnostic marker in leukemia.
