Target Information
Beta actin is one of six actin isoforms identified in humans. It is a non-muscle cytoskeletal protein expressed in all cell types and plays a key role in cell motility, structure, and integrity. Beta and gamma actins coexist as cytoskeletal components, forming filamentous actin (F-actin) through polymerization of globular actin (G-actin). Due to its ubiquitous expression, beta-actin is commonly used as a loading control in protein detection assays such as Western blotting. Antibodies against beta-actin are valuable tools for studying intracellular distribution and cytoskeletal dynamics.
