Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

This gene encodes the coagulation factor XIII A subunit, the final zymogen activated in the blood coagulation cascade. Plasma factor XIII is a heterotetramer (2 A subunits and 2 B subunits). The A subunits have catalytic activity, while the B subunits act as plasma carriers. Platelet factor XIII consists of two A subunits identical to those in plasma. Upon activation by thrombin and calcium ions, the B subunits dissociate, producing the active enzyme factor XIIIa.
Factor XIIIa catalyzes crosslinking between fibrin molecules, stabilizing the clot, and also crosslinks α2-plasmin inhibitor or fibronectin to fibrin α chains.
Deficiency of factor XIII can be:

  • Type I: absence of both A and B subunits
  • Type II: absence of A subunit only

These deficiencies lead to bleeding tendency, poor wound healing, and recurrent miscarriage.
