CTDSPL은 REST에 의해 RE-1 요소를 포함하는 신경 유전자에 모집되어, 비신경 세포에서 신경 유전자 발현을 억제하는 역할을 합니다.
POLR2A의 C-말단 도메인(CTD)에 존재하는 7잔기 반복 서열 내 Ser-5 잔기를 탈인산화하여 RNA polymerase II 전사를 음성 조절할 수 있으며, 개시/캡핑 단계에서 전사 연장 단계로의 전환을 조절하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
