Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information
Mitochondrial peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR), also known as TSPO, is a critical component of the steroidogenic machinery. It mediates cholesterol delivery to the inner mitochondrial cytochrome P-450 upon ligand activation.
PBR consists of three subunits: an isoquinoline binding site, a voltage-dependent anion channel, and an adenine nucleotide carrier. It is genetically conserved from bacteria to humans and expressed widely in peripheral organs, but sparsely in the brain, mainly in glial cells.
Peroxisome proliferator perfluordecanoic acid (PFDA) inhibits Leydig cell steroidogenesis by affecting PBR mRNA stability, thus reducing PBR expression, mitochondrial cholesterol transport, and steroid formation. PRAX-1 (Peripheral Benzodiazepine Receptor-Associated Protein 1) specifically interacts with PBR.
