Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Anti-BLM pS1290 is directed against the phosphorylated form of human S1290 residue. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with human and mouse based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with BLM pS1290 from other sources has not been determined.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the annexin family of calcium-dependent phospholipid binding proteins, some of which are implicated in membrane-related events along exocytotic and endocytotic pathways. Annexin 5 acts as a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity, potentially involved in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth, and differentiation.
Annexin 5 is also known as placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4, and anchorin CII. The gene spans 29 kb containing 13 exons and encodes a single transcript of approximately 1.6 kb and a protein product with a molecular weight of about 35 kDa.
