Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, accounting for about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins.
It is absent in non-hematopoietic cells and tissues. CD45 plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases, JAK kinases, and integrin-mediated pathways.
Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45RA, an isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
Overall, CD45 is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling and cell survival regulation.
