Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Human lipodystrophy is characterized by loss of body fat, fatty liver, hypertriglyceridemia, and insulin resistance.
Mouse mutations in the fatty liver dystrophy gene cause similar phenotypes. The responsible mouse gene, Lpin1, encodes a nuclear protein named lipin, expressed highly in adipose tissue and induced during preadipocyte differentiation.
Lipin is essential for normal adipose tissue development and is a candidate gene for human lipodystrophy.
Human homologs include LPIN1 (chromosome 2p25), LPIN2 (chromosome 18p11), and LPIN3 (chromosome 20q11-q12).
Mouse homologs map to chromosomes 12, 17, and 2, respectively.
