Target Information
Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, including transcriptional activation or repression.
Most zinc-finger proteins contain a Kruppel-type DNA-binding domain and a KRAB domain, which interacts with KAP1 to recruit histone-modifying proteins.
As a member of the Krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, ZNF25 (Zinc finger protein 25), also known as Zinc finger protein KOX19, is a 456 amino acid nuclear protein with one KRAB domain and twelve C2H2-type zinc fingers.
The gene encoding ZNF25 maps to human chromosome 10, a region associated with multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2A and 2B. Two isoforms of ZNF25 are produced via alternative splicing.
