Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD40 antigen is a single-chain glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor/nerve growth factor superfamily. It shows significant homology to CD30 and is expressed on all B cells except plasma cells, as well as on some epithelial cells, carcinomas, and dendritic cells.
CD40 plays a key role in immune and inflammatory responses, including T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching, memory B cell development, and germinal center formation. It is regulated by the transcription factor AKNA and interacts with adaptor protein TNFR2 to mediate signal transduction.
The CD40–CD40L interaction is implicated in amyloid-beta-induced microglial activation, an early event in Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
Diseases associated with CD40 dysfunction include Type 3 Hyper-IgM immunodeficiency and CD40 ligand deficiency.
