Product Specific Information
Specificity: D1 has been shown to bind to BSA in panning experiments from phage display. Albumin is a secreted globular protein found in blood plasma and BSA has multiple biochemical applications including ELISAs and immunohistochemistry. It can increase the stability of proteins and serve as a standard in Bradford assays.
Target Information
Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein comprising about one-half of blood serum protein. It functions primarily as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones, and helps stabilize extracellular fluid volume. Albumin is a globular, unglycosylated serum protein with a molecular weight of approximately 65,000. It is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin, which undergoes cleavage in the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi to yield the secreted form of albumin.
