Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

CD30 (Ki-1, TNF Receptor Superfamily Member 8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the TNF receptor superfamily. It was first identified as a surface antigen on Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg cells using monoclonal antibody Ki-1.
CD30 binds to its ligand CD30L (CD153), mediating diverse cellular effects such as proliferation, activation, differentiation, and apoptosis. It plays a critical role in Hodgkin’s disease and other CD30+ lymphomas, acting as a costimulatory molecule in thymic negative selection.

CD30 is expressed on Hodgkin’s and Reed-Sternberg cells, certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (e.g., Burkitt’s lymphoma), virus-infected T and B cells, and activated normal T and B cells.
In T cells, CD30 expression is associated with subsets producing Th2-type cytokines and CD4+/CD8+ thymocytes co-expressing CD45RO and IL4 receptor. The soluble form (sCD30) serves as a marker of Th2 immune response.

TRAF2 and TRAF5 interact with CD30 to activate NF-κB signaling. CD30 positively regulates apoptosis and limits autoreactive CD8 effector T cell proliferation, contributing to immune homeostasis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.

CD30 expression is characteristic of mononuclear cells in Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Reed-Sternberg cells, and most anaplastic large cell lymphomas (ALCL), as well as embryonal carcinomas.
