Product Specific Information

The BC96 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα).
CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineage and activated mature lymphocytes.
It binds IL-2 with low affinity alone, but forms a high-affinity receptor complex with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain).
CD25 is involved in lymphocyte differentiation, activation, and proliferation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (defined as staining a sample in 100 µL total volume).
Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

For optimal CD25 detection (emission at 518 nm), use Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated antibodies rather than FITC.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the alpha chain of the interleukin-2 receptor, playing a role in T and B lymphocyte proliferation.
The IL2 receptor complex (IL2RA, IL2RB, IL2RG) forms high-affinity binding sites for IL-2.
IL2 regulates growth, differentiation, and apoptosis of immune cells.
It stimulates B cell proliferation, enhances NK cell activity, and inhibits granulocyte macrophage colony formation.
Mutations in IL2RA are associated with interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency and immune dysregulation.
