Product Specific Information
- Tested in direct ELISA (use antibody at 2–4 µg/mL for coating).
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues, heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) at 95°C for 45 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
TIMP-1 and TIMP-2 are inhibitors of the matrix metalloproteinase family, playing a crucial role in maintaining connective tissue integrity.
TIMP-2 binds strongly to both latent and active forms of 72 kDa Type IV collagenase (MMP-2, gelatinase A) and also to the active form of 92 kDa Type IV collagenase (MMP-9, gelatinase B).
It inhibits the proteolytic invasiveness of tumor cells and normal placental trophoblast cells.
