면역글로불린은 두 개의 heavy chain과 두 개의 light chain(κ, λ)으로 구성된 4개의 폴리펩타이드 사슬 구조를 가집니다. κ와 λ는 가변 영역과 일정 영역으로 구성되며, 일정 영역의 항원성 차이로 구분됩니다. 사람의 κ:λ 비율은 약 70:30입니다. Kappa light chain 항체는 백혈병, 형질세포종, 특정 비호지킨 림프종의 식별에 유용하며, 림프구 침윤의 단일성(clonality)을 확인하는 데 사용됩니다.
