Target Information

FITC (fluorescein isothiocyanate) is a fluorochrome dye that absorbs ultraviolet or blue light, exciting molecules to emit visible yellow-green light. This emission stops when the excitation light is removed.
Fluorochrome labeling enables rapid and accurate localization of antigen-antibody interactions in cells or tissues.
FITC is a commonly used marker for immunofluorescent techniques because conjugation to proteins is simple and retains biological activity.
Anti-FITC antibodies can isolate FITC-labeled cells using magnetic bead sorting or reduce background signals.
