Product Specific Information

The eBio5E10 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD90, also known as Thy-1 (thymus cell antigen-1). CD90 is a 25–35 kD receptor expressed on thymocytes, CD34+ prothymocytes, hematopoietic stem cells, neurons, and subsets of fetal liver, cord blood, and bone marrow cells.
This antibody is suitable for flow cytometric analysis and has been tested using HEL cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test.
Brilliant Violet™ 480 (BV480) emits at 479 nm and is intended for use with violet (405 nm) lasers. Ensure instrument compatibility before use.
When using multiple polymer dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75) to minimize non-specific interactions.
BV480 is not compatible with methanol-based fixation.

Target Information

CD90 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein in the Immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts.
CD90 plays a role in cell-cell or cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other neural events. It serves as a marker for stem cells and axonal processes of mature neurons.
Structural studies of CD90 contributed to the foundation of the Immunoglobulin superfamily and the first biochemical characterization of a vertebrate GPI anchor.
Diseases associated with CD90 dysfunction include nasopharyngeal carcinoma and thymoma.
