Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity purified antibody is directed against human CDC27 protein. BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with CDC27 from human, chimpanzee, chicken, rat, and dog based on 100% homology for the immunogen sequence. Expect cross-reactivity with mouse CDC27 due to a single amino acid residue change. Cross-reactivity with CDC27 homologues from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

The CDC27 protein shares strong similarity with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Cdc27 and Schizosaccharomyces pombe nuc2 proteins. It is a component of the anaphase-promoting complex (APC), composed of eight highly conserved subunits in eukaryotic cells.
APC catalyzes formation of cyclin B–ubiquitin conjugates responsible for ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis of B-type cyclins. CDC27 and other APC complex members contain TPR (tetratricopeptide repeat) domains, important for protein-protein interactions.
CDC27 interacts with mitotic checkpoint proteins including Mad2, p55CDC, and BUBR1, suggesting involvement in mitosis timing control. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
