Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human GDF-3. Anti-Human GDF-3-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human GDF-3 matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human GDF-3 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human GDF-3 (500-P235Bt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human GDF-3.

Western Blot:
To detect Human GDF-3 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human GDF-3 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

GDF3 is a member of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) family and the TGF-beta superfamily. This group of proteins is characterized by a polybasic proteolytic processing site which is cleaved to produce a mature protein containing seven conserved cysteine residues. Members of this family regulate cell growth and differentiation in both embryonic and adult tissues. Although the precise function of GDF3 is unknown, expression studies suggest involvement in regulation of the adult lymphatic and erythroid systems and embryonic development.
