Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, it is recommended to add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, an additional desalting step is recommended (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

TIM3 (Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 2, HAVCR2, T-cell immunoglobulin, mucin-domain containing-3) is a 281 amino acid, type I Th1-specific cell surface glycoprotein expressed on terminally differentiated CD4+ Th1 and CD8+ Tc1 cells.
It consists of an IgV-like domain, a mucin-like domain in the extracellular region, and a conserved tyrosine phosphorylation motif in the cytoplasmic region.
TIM3 is involved in macrophage activation and autoimmune disease induction, down-regulating Th1-mediated immune responses and facilitating immune tolerance.
Pathological significance has been observed in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a Th1-dependent autoimmune disease, where TIM3 enhances disease severity in mice.
