CXCL12 (SDF1)는 stromal cell-derived alpha chemokine으로, intercrine family에 속합니다. CXCL12와 그 수용체 CXCR4는 림프구를 활성화할 수 있으며, 유방암 등 일부 암의 전이에 관련되어 있습니다. 또한, 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 HIV-1 감염 저항성과 연관이 있습니다. 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이가 보고되었습니다.
