Product Specific Information

The N1UG0 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD4, a 59 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by most thymocytes, a subset of mature T cells (T-helper cells), and at low levels on monocytes. CD4 serves as a receptor for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
This antibody is recommended for staining human formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for western blotting and immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues.

Applications Tested:

• IHC (FFPE human tissue): ≤2.5 µg/mL using low or high pH antigen retrieval
• WB (reduced PBMC): ≤5.0 µg/mL
  Careful titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Purity: >90%, determined by SDS-PAGE
Aggregation: <10%, determined by HPLC

Target Information

The CD4 antigen participates in recognition of MHC class II molecules and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. It is primarily expressed on T-helper cells but can also be found on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
Tissue expression includes thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of brain and gut. CD4 facilitates early T-cell activation via interaction with the T-cell receptor and protein tyrosine kinase Lck.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
