This antibody has specificity for Human PVRL3/Nectin-3/CD113.
Target Information
Nectin-3 is an 83 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily involved in cell-cell adhesion. Nectins (1–4) interact homophilically and heterophilically to form various junctions, including adherens junctions, synaptic junctions, and Sertoli cell–spermatid junctions.
Nectin-3 (also known as PRR3) is predominantly expressed in testis and placental tissues and interacts with afadin at cadherin-based junctions. Its ectodomain also binds strongly to CD155 (Poliovirus Receptor).
Injection of antibody 103-A1 into seminiferous tubules disrupts actin filaments in Sertoli cells and causes exfoliation of maturing spermatids from the seminiferous epithelium.
