Target Information

The enzyme mevalonate pyrophosphate decarboxylase (MVD) catalyzes the conversion of mevalonate pyrophosphate into isopentenyl pyrophosphate, an early step in cholesterol biosynthesis. It decarboxylates and dehydrates its substrate while hydrolyzing ATP.
