Target Information

EPHB1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the ephrin receptor family. Members of the Eph family play key roles in biological processes such as nervous system development, angiogenesis, and synapse formation and maturation.
EphB1 and other EphB family members are type I membrane-spanning proteins composed of immunoglobulin, fibronectin type III, and cysteine-rich subdomains in the ectodomain, and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain upstream of a carboxy-terminal sterile alpha motif (SAM) domain.
EphB family proteins bind to ephrin-B class ligands, which are also transmembrane proteins capable of bidirectional signaling. EphB1 is primarily expressed in developing neural structures and vascular endothelium. Upon binding ephrin-B1, EphB1 regulates cell attachment and assembly.
Members of this family are implicated in neuronal and vascular cell targeting.
