Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Heterotrimeric G proteins are membrane-bound GTPases linked to 7-transmembrane (7-TM) receptors. Each G protein consists of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits and is GDP-bound in the inactive state. Ligand–receptor binding triggers G protein detachment and activation, allowing Galpha to regulate second messenger signaling cascades. Galphas and Galphai subtypes directly modulate adenylyl cyclase activity, increasing or decreasing cAMP levels respectively.
