Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as confirmed by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure composed of 28 non-identical subunits arranged in four rings. Two rings consist of seven alpha subunits and two rings of seven beta subunits. Proteasomes are abundant in eukaryotic cells and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent, non-lysosomal pathway. A modified form, the immunoproteasome, is essential for processing class I MHC peptides. The PSMA4 gene encodes a 20S core alpha subunit of the peptidase T1A family, with three alternatively spliced transcript variants producing different isoforms.
