Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The proteasome is a multicatalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure. The core structure consists of four rings of 28 non-identical subunits: two rings composed of seven alpha subunits and two rings composed of seven beta subunits. Proteasomes are abundant in eukaryotic cells and cleave peptides in an ATP/ubiquitin-dependent, non-lysosomal pathway. A modified form, the immunoproteasome, plays a key role in processing class I MHC peptides. The PSMA2 gene encodes a 20S core alpha subunit belonging to the peptidase T1A family.
