This antibody is predicted to react with mouse based on sequence homology.
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as ~150 kDa band and upon reduction generates a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that signals in response to various growth factors. Overexpression is linked to numerous cancers, making EGFR a target for both biological and small molecule therapeutics.
EGFR is encoded by the EGFR gene on chromosome 7 in humans and belongs to the HER/ERbB family, which includes ERbB2, ERbB3, and ERbB4.
Binding of ligands such as EGF and TGFα to the extracellular domain induces EGFR dimerization and autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain.
Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
