Target Information
FLT3 is a tyrosine protein kinase belonging to the growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase family. Activation occurs via binding of the fms-related tyrosine kinase 3 ligand to the extracellular domain, inducing homodimer formation and autophosphorylation in the plasma membrane. The activated receptor phosphorylates and activates multiple cytoplasmic effector molecules, playing roles in apoptosis, proliferation, and differentiation of hematopoietic cells in bone marrow. Constitutive activation mutations are associated with acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
