Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene, located on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-kB.
Upon TNF-α receptor activation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation, thereby releasing NF-kB to translocate into the nucleus and regulate target gene transcription.
NF-kB p65 plays a critical role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
