Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene on chromosome 11 in humans. NF-kB p65, also known as RelA, belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 to constitute the NF-kB complex. Upon TNFα stimulation, IKK phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation and subsequent activation of NF-kB. RelA plays a key role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
