Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes an extracellular epitope of human CD19.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and has two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells defined by kappa or lambda light chain expression. CD19 expression is also found on certain myeloid leukemia cells, particularly those of monocytic lineage. It serves as an early and broad B-cell restricted antigen and functions as a key regulator of normal and malignant B-cell proliferation. CD19 acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B-cell receptor (BCR) and can signal independently. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, whereas overexpression may cause B-cell hyperactivity.
