Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Plakophilins (PKP1–4) influence development and link cadherins to cytoskeletal intermediate filaments. They contain armadillo-repeat domains and localize to nuclei and cell desmosomes, which are junctions found in tissues under mechanical stress.
- PKP1 mediates increases in desmosomal protein content and regulates cell migration.
- PKP2 is essential for desmosome assembly and cardiac architecture.
- PKP4 regulates junctional plaque organization and cadherin function.
