Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small (40S) and large (60S) subunit containing over 80 distinct ribosomal proteins.
Ribosomal Protein L39 (RPL39) is the smallest liver ribosomal protein, composed of 51 amino acids, and localizes to the cytoplasm.
The RPL39 gene maps to human chromosome Xq24 and shares 92% homology with Ribosomal Protein L39L (RPL39-like), which is expressed in testis and localizes in the nucleolus.
