Product Specific Information
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is colon carcinoma.

This gene encodes a member of the chaperonin family. The encoded mitochondrial protein may function as a signaling molecule in the innate immune system. It is essential for the folding and assembly of newly imported proteins in the mitochondria.
This gene is adjacent to a related family member, and the region between the two genes functions as a bidirectional promoter. Several pseudogenes have been associated with this gene. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal recessive spastic paraplegia 13.
