Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
After antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is anterior pituitary tissue.

Target Information

Human growth hormone (hGH) belongs to the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones, which play a key role in growth control.
The GH1 gene and four related genes are located on chromosome 17, sharing high sequence identity.
Alternative splicing produces five isoforms (19–24 kDa).
hGH is secreted by somatotroph cells in the pituitary and acts via cytokine-type membrane receptors.
Its main function is to stimulate body growth by inducing IGF-1 secretion from the liver and other tissues.
It promotes differentiation and proliferation of myoblasts and enhances amino acid uptake and protein synthesis.
Mutations or deletions in the gene can lead to growth hormone deficiency and short stature.
