Product Specific Information

  • For Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris Buffer with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Erythropoietin (EPO) is a growth factor essential for the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of erythroid precursors. It induces the final maturation of partially differentiated erythroid cells and promotes hemoglobin production.
The EPO receptor (EPOR) is highly expressed on precursor cells and decreases as cells mature.
In the fetus, hepatocytes are the main source of EPO, while in adults, it is primarily produced by kidney interstitial cells.
EPO expression increases during hypoxia and can also be detected at low levels in lung and brain tissues.
Recent studies suggest EPO may contribute to neuronal protection and tissue repair.
