Target Information
SLC34A2 encodes a pH-sensitive sodium-dependent phosphate transporter. Phosphate uptake increases at lower pH. Defects in this gene cause pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
