F-Box and WD Repeat Domain Containing 7 (FBXW7)는 약 40개의 아미노산으로 구성된 F-box 모티프를 특징으로 하는 F-box 단백질 계열에 속합니다. F-box 단백질은 SKP1-cullin-F-box로 구성된 SCF 복합체의 구성 요소로, 인산화 의존적 유비퀴틴화에 관여합니다.
FBXW7은 WD40 도메인을 포함하는 Fbws 클래스에 속하며, 7개의 연속된 WD40 반복을 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 cyclin E에 직접 결합하여 유비퀴틴 매개 분해를 유도할 가능성이 있습니다. FBXW7 유전자의 돌연변이는 난소 및 유방암 세포주에서 발견되어 암 발생과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다. 다양한 이소형을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이체가 보고되었습니다.
