Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
BAX is a member of the Bcl-2 family and plays a key role in the regulation of apoptosis.
While Bcl-2 acts as an anti-apoptotic protein, BAX promotes apoptosis through homo- and heterodimerization with other family members.
The Bax gene produces isoforms Bax alpha (21 kDa) and Bax beta (24 kDa), both containing BH1, BH2, and BH3 domains. Bax beta lacks a hydrophobic transmembrane domain.
Overexpression of BAX promotes cell death by interacting with BCL-2-related proteins.
