Target Information
Cellular retinaldehyde-binding protein (CRALBP)는 rod visual pigment 재생에 중요한 역할을 하며, opsin 및 rhodopsin과 같은 시각 단백질의 11-cis-retinal 재생에 관여합니다.
11-cis-retinal이 광이성화되면 all-trans-retinal로 전환되고, 이후 all-trans-retinol로 변환되어 망막 색소 상피(RPE)로 확산됩니다. RPE에서 다시 11-cis-retinol로 변환된 후 CRALBP에 의해 11-cis-retinal로 산화됩니다.
CRALBP의 기능 결핍은 Bothnia dystrophy, retinitis punctata albescens, retina pigmentosa, Newfoundland rod-cone dystrophy 등 시각 질환과 연관되어 있습니다.
CRALBP는 망막의 RPE 및 Müller glial 세포의 마커로 사용됩니다.
