Target Information
RNF2 (E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase RING2)는 히스톤 H2A의 Lys-119를 단일 유비퀴틴화하여(H2AK119Ub) 히스톤 코드 및 유전자 발현 조절에 중심적인 역할을 하는 효소입니다.
이 효소의 활성이 BMI1/PCGF4에 의해 강화되며, H2AK119Ub는 전사 억제 및 X 염색체 불활성화에 관여합니다.
또한 RNF2는 Polycomb group (PcG) 복합체 PRC1-like complex의 필수 구성 요소로, Hox 유전자 등 발달 과정에서 전사 억제 상태를 유지하는 데 필요합니다.
이 복합체는 히스톤 변형 및 크로마틴 리모델링을 통해 유전적으로 안정적인 전사 억제 상태를 유지합니다.
