The monoclonal antibody 9 recognizes iC3b, C3dg, and C3g in plasma.
It does not recognize C3 or C3b.
Target Information
Complement factor C3 consists of an alpha and a beta chain and plays a central role in the complement cascade.
It is involved in both the alternative pathway (C3 convertase C3bBb) and the classical/lectin pathway (C3 convertase C4b2a).
Cleavage of C3 results in C3a and C3b, with further degradation producing C3d, C3g, and C3c.
C3 is an acute phase protein expressed in various tissues, including renal epithelial cells and hepatocytes.
